Prof. Betz, this time the focus of the students in special on the topic of surveillance - directed surveillance and general sociological, legal and ethical considerations led based on the importance of libraries in particular.
The issue of control, surveillance, the related institutions of paternalism behind the inspector and data collectors seems to the main topic of information ethics to be.
Also in the library area, the situation requires now also clear opinions and responsible conduct on pure philosophical reflections and obedient tacit detailed statutory requirements.
The principles of any information ethics, which are found in all the specific codes and canons are the demands for
freedom of speech
freedom of the printed word (press freedom)
freedom of access to information
right to privacy
right to protection of (intellectual) property

All these things have an impact on the privacy of users and preparer and their access to inside information.
